Their journey takes us from the most humbling of road gigs to grand performances on the biggest of stages, from finding love to terrible personal loss| and to the prospect of losing everything for a dream others do...。这部彩色纪录片中，介绍了我国传统木偶艺术的基本情况，同时展现了由中国木偶艺术剧团演出的四个节目：1.秧歌舞、2.猪八戒背媳妇、3.蒋干盗书、4.路打不平（雷万春打虎）前两部为李干元、阎凤舞、冷福记、李云鉴等表演的杖头木偶；后两部为杨胜、陈南田表演的闽南布袋木偶……。
