书生宁采臣赴京赶考，夜宿兰若寺，邂逅专门代姥姥迷惑男人吸取精气的聂小倩，二人经过一番磨难渐生情愫终成眷侣，但姥姥要将聂小倩嫁给黑山老妖，情急之下，宁采臣向燕赤霞求助……。A young woman (Rosemary Wilcox) is haunted by pop-Freudian dreams of her recently murdered psychologist (and lover), so for some reason she goes to a resort where the psychologist liked to hang out and becomes involved with a gangster (Adolf Celli) and the strange female resort owner (Alida Valli).
