本剧讲述了患有创伤后应激障碍的格斗运动员黄大宝（伍中元饰）与书仙颜如玉的爱情故事。黄大宝在颜如玉的帮助下从创伤中走出，重新燃起生活的希望，不再浑浑噩噩，开始了新的生活，后来另一位邪恶书仙来俊臣（刘世华饰），辗转千年发现了颜如玉的踪迹，欲与颜如玉再续前缘，用计偷取了颜如玉藏身的道德经。黄大宝得知后，最终打败来俊臣，救出了颜如玉。。JOHN is a new verbatim dance-theatre work by Lloyd Newson, Artistic Director of DV8 Physical Theatre.
