邱素云（沈时华 饰）和邱伟隆（谢屏楠 饰）回到了风景秀丽的乡下老家，照顾生病的父亲邱明渊（田丰 饰）。邱家的家境本就不算丰裕，邱明渊的病更令家中的财政状况雪上加霜，于是，邱伟隆将青年企业家周建邦（张佩华 饰）介绍给了邱素云，希望能够通过邱素云和周建邦的结合来缓解现状。 然而，邱素云早已经有了深爱的男友，邱伟隆的卑鄙想法令她怒火中烧，一气之下，邱素云离家出走，却无处可去流落街头，偶然遇见淳朴善良的吴应强（寇世勋 饰），获得了他的帮助和支持。陈玉琴（马之秦 饰）是吴应强的准丈母娘，而她和邱明渊之间还有着一段牵扯不清的缘分。。Young people use music to express their new awareness of life and generational opposition to their parents, as well as to protest the social and political climate in East Germany.
