本片讲述了蔡超贤几十年来收集古家具，办了一个“十里红妆”展厅，往往不惜血本购入家具，但又不知道如何产生效益。因此，时常和儿子蔡强发生争执。蔡强同学陈锋来了，鼓动蔡强卖掉一些古家具，为此，他和父亲产生了更多矛盾……。Subjects of Desire is a thought provoking film that examines the cultural shift in beauty standards towards embracing (or appropriating) Black aesthetics and features, deconstructing what we understand about race and the power behind beauty.。
