Eventually she begins to integrate herself in to their lives, befriending Joachim's cousins, flirting with Joachim himself and developing a c...。故事围绕着一幢破旧的旧式大院展开，着力描画了租住在此的七十二家房客的众生相。众房客在包租婆八姑（胡锦 饰）的欺压下，终日不得安生。八姑风骚刁泼，待人刻薄。而她的养女阿香（井莉 饰）却乐于助人。终于，八姑的苛刻规定“房客每天只能用两桶水”成为了导火索，做洗熨的上海婆（沈殿霞 饰）带头抗议，得到房客们的合力支持。加上发仔（岳华 饰）、阿福（何守信 饰）等人的附和，一段段斗智斗勇的小故事连番上演。 由香港邵氏兄弟有限公司拍摄的电影《七十二家房客》改编自同名经典舞台剧，影片不仅云集了岳华、井莉、田青、胡锦、何守信在内的实力派演员，众多当红影视明星也在该片中客串演出，上演了一部反映当年香港社会的人间百态。。
