本剧改编自同名漫画，讲述了在昭和初期的九十九夜町，“拥有敏锐观察力且负债累累的穷侦探”与“能分辨谎言的奇妙能力少女”这对特色搭档解决“谎言”和“真相”交织的疑难案件，同时彼此之间逐渐产生情愫的推理恋爱故事。能够听到别人谎言的浦部鹿乃子（松本穗香饰）受到村里人排挤而离开家乡。她一直认为这个能力会带来不幸，直到遇到了侦探祝左右马（铃鹿央士饰），在他的鼓励下，鹿乃子开始正视自己，并且第一次意识到这个能力可以帮助他人…。南岁从一个被人人歧视和轻视的白玛家的养子，到最终成为造福一方百姓的医圣，他凭借坚韧不拔的奋斗精神，不断克服困难，最终实现了自己的价值。南岁在成为医圣的过程中，不仅展现了过人的智慧，也展现了无畏的勇气。“What is a woman to do in the current dating climate?
