故事发生在三十年代的上海，欧阳日为私家侦探，后其父遭暗杀，欧阳日为父报仇展开侦查，发现最大嫌疑人竟是其童年好友关天培，在培妹佩佩的侦查下，才洗脱天培嫌疑。原来日父之死，是董家帮首领董一峰及其得力助手马群所为。群乃日军卧底，利用峰而挑起上海各帮会互相仇杀。 日之爱侣余婷遭马群绑架，利用婷祖父的医院做细菌实验，欲以此吞并中国。日在连番追查下，察觉到婷行为有异，日至此才发觉到，他所面对的是一项国际大阴谋。。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs. As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. Very upsetting indeed, all the more as they are required to keep up the Kéraudren estate in the meantime.
